Luxury double-storey penthouse sells in new pet-friendly complex

A New York-style penthouse in this southeast Queensland suburb has sold for a multi-million dollar price overnight. The double-storey penthouse at 1303/37 Archer St, Toowong sold for a whopping $3.075 million. It was the first time the penthouse had hit the market since its recent development as part of Centra Toowong. According to CoreLogic, the sale is one of the top three unit prices ever achieved in the suburb. The four-bedroom, fivebathroom penthouse has a nine-car garage. The pet-friendly 14-storey building also has a rooftop deck with a pool and spa. There are five bathrooms, so every bedroom has an ensuite, all with white marble vanities, as well as a walk-in wardrobe. NGU Real Estate principal Emil Juresic said he did not get home until after midnight last night, as the seller lived at Coolangatta. “ The buyers live at Indooroopilly and the seller at the coast, so I had to jump in the car and make it happen,” Mr Juresic said. “The sellers, who have two kids, bought a luxury home in March but because they travel a lot for business they wanted a property with no maintenance.” Mr Juresic said the sale price was testament to the suburb’s appeal. “I haven’t seen anything like this in the Toowong area,” he said. “This apartment has that New York feel to it. It’s only eight months old and was owned by the construction manager who has decided to live on the coast rather than in Brisbane.” Mr Juresic said the seller was “over the moon” as the property was sold above his expectations. Floor-to-ceiling glass means thespectacular aspect is appreciated from every metre of the floorplan. “The views are to die for,” Mr Juresic said. “This building is walking distance to the trainstation and local shopping centre.” He said the large private balcony was arguably the most impressive outdoor entertaining space in Brisbane.

Barn-like renovation raises excitement to rafters

Could this be Brisbane’s best barn-like renovation? The home at 34 Smiths Rd, Wights Mountain is one-of-a-kind and features four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. Owners Taryn and Russ Quinn bought the home, and remodelled it over 18 months. “It was a tired looking structure,” Mrs Quinn said. “We both saw the potential in the building, with exposed timbers and openplan living. It has been totally revamped.” Mrs Quinn said her husband, a software engineer, was the brains behind the technology in the home. “It’s a smart home and we have used Cbus technology throughout,” she said. “We can control everything from our smart phone. We can open the gates from our smart phone, operate the lights, fans, and even irrigation systems.” Restored original beams frame a home which includes a library, media room and solarheated pool. Architect Dennis Cantwell renovated and extended the existing space assisted by builder Barry Kuenz of Loyalty Homes. NGU Real Estate principal Emil Juresic has listed the property for offers over $1,590,000.

Brisbane’s ‘Great Gatsby Mansion’ listed for $11m

THE owners of one of Brisbane’s most extravagant riverside homes, which has been dubbed the Great Gatsby Mansion, are seeking $11 million for the estate. The asking price was revealed after it was listed with a new real estate agent, Emil Juresic of NGU Real Estate Toowong. Previously, the iconic 3923sq m estate, which was built on the site of General Douglas MacArthur’s home during the Pacific campaign, was put out to tender, with that closing in December. The Victorian-style mansion is one of the city’s landmark homes and is owned by doctors Chris and Tania Bradshaw. It was, despite its character features, built just 23 years ago, and has seven bedrooms, two studies, four bathrooms, room for five cars, a pool and a five-storey turret and dome which opens up for stargazing. The estate also has 60m of river frontage, with the opportunity to purchase another 30m of riverfront land currently owned by the State Government. Other features include a pontoon to accommodate a vessel in excess of 60m, chairlift access from the lower level to ground level, provision for a 2000-bottle wine cellar, four separate decks, three fireplaces, an electronic boat lift, a boathouse, two workshops and a gym/man cave. There are also two separate fully self-contained guest quarters. Mr Juresic, who listed the mansion last night, said there was nothing like it on the market in Brisbane. “It is on the river, close to the city and on a block of land that is just under 4000sq m,” he said. “The house is massive and full of character. When I first walked in to it the first thing that came to mind was the Great Gatsby Mansion.” Mr Juresic said that while there were houses on the market in the same price range, even in Brisbane, most were modern-style builds. He said houses like 50 Dauphin Terrace in Sydney could go for “$30, $40, $50 million”. “It only went up last night and we have already locked in some private inspections,” Mr Juresic said. “I am confident it will be sold. This is a trophy home.”

$3.1 million marine megamansion SOLD

You better go chasing waterfalls elsewhere, because the one featured in this aquatic kingdom has already been taken! This one-of-a-kind palace with an inside waterfall sold in a $3,100,000 cash unconditional deal earlier today. “This property is very unique, not only for Bellbowrie but for the whole of Brisbane, and maybe even the whole of Australia,” said selling agent Leo Liu of NGU Real Estate. And Mr Liu is not wrong there – this jaw-dropping home has water features beyond your wildest dreams. “From the moment that you walk into the house, you can see the waterfall inside and you can see the water flowing around the formal dining area,” explained Mr Liu. “Then you see the recreational pool, the formal swimming pool and the Brisbane river – water, water, water!” An impressive 80 metres of Brisbane River frontage borders the massive 1.63 ha block of land, with the beautifully designed five-bedroom, 6-bathroom mansion offering numerous living areas and a stunning gourmet kitchen. “When previous owners moved in, they completely renovated the kitchen, and it won the kitchen of the year in 2010,” said Mr Liu. The secluded location of Bellbowrie has caused its own challenges when selling the property – Mr Liu told that many people actually had no idea where it was located. “Even people from Brisbane might have never heard of Bellbowrie!” he said. Mr Liu told that the sellers were downsizing, and the buyers were, in turn, upsizing. The lucky new owners were a local family, who had been looking for a property exactly like this. “They were a big family of six, and they wanted a big home with a lot of land, and they also needed a five-car garage, not every home has that!” explained Mr Liu. “This home matched all the needs of the buyers, it was perfect for them.” Agent NGU Real Estate – East Brisbane Leo Liu 0468394039 leo@realestate.com.au @leo_liu_realestate

Modern mansion sets $2m record for Burleigh Heads street

A CONTEMPORARY Burleigh Heads mansion has sold for a record $2 million after just three days on the market. A Gold Coast family looking for a seachange bought the new home at 79 Ocean Parade, known as Oceania, last month. The sale has smashed the street’s previous record, which was set by No. 100 when it sold for $1.6 million last year. NGU Real Estate agent Emil Juresic said he and fellow agent Sean Graves received about 100 inquiries about the property and showed 50 groups through in three days. He said buyers fell in love with the home’s position and modern design. “The sellers developed an amazing house, which is a quality build with great design,” Mr Juresic said. The four-bedroom home was among one of the most viewed homes on realestate.com.au last month. Mr Juresic said the sellers, Roxy and Darren Smith, built two similar homes next to each other – one they decided to live in and No. 79 they sold. The multi-level home sits on an elevated block and is surrounded by bushland with views to the Hinterland, famous Gold Coast beaches and Tallebudgera Creek. Oversized windows and towering glass doors that open the combined kitchen and living area up onto the entertainment deck and pool make the most of the coastal views. Mr Juresic said this was what the new buyers loved most about it. “The couple were living on a few acres of land and wanted to buy a great home with water views,” Mr Juresic said. “They are absolutely in love with this home.” The property also has a double garage underneath the pool and a butler’s pantry. Mrs Smith said they had searched for the perfect block of land for years. “We were super lucky to find this block,” she said.

Super-Agent Sells Third $2m+ Property on One Street

A cracking five-bedroom home has been sold for $2.45 million in Sherwood, Brisbane. The home, at 41 Arbour Street, was successfully sold by NGU real estate agent, Leo Liu, who is on fire at the moment, recording almost $10 million in sales last month alone. The sale is the third completed by Mr Liu on Arbour Street in the previous 12 months after closing deals for the neighbouring property at number 43, for $2.4 million, and number 17, for $3.05 million. The magnificent waterfront property transacted yesterday after an unconditional cash offer was accepted. The special property was built by the vendors who are downsizing elsewhere along the coast. Mr Liu said: “It’s a very high-quality home with beautiful views of the Brisbane river, it’s a phenomenal house.” “The seller was a builder and architect, and he promised that this would be the last property he would build, so he put all his effort into it, it is a beautiful house,” Mr Liu said. Despite the tough market conditions, Mr Liu explained that his determination to secure a buyer for his client meant he was able to close a deal on what is becoming a bit of a stomping ground for the agent. “I got on the listing at the end of February, and in March the coronavirus crisis hit which meant no open home viewings – making it very tough.” The vendors were even preparing to lease the property just a few weeks before Mr Liu swooped in and placed a buyer. “They were just about to sign a lease agreement because they couldn’t find a buyer, but I fought until the last moment, I never gave up,” said the tenacious Mr Liu. The NGU real estate agent (which, fittingly, stands for Never Give Up), managed to seal the deal and get his third property sale on the street over the line. “All three sales have followed a common theme; I have been the second agent on the listings after the properties have been with other agents for a long time.”
